Speaker's Workshop

Overview:  The workshop will focus on teaching effective presentation skills in public speaking.  Participants will learn how to tailor their message to the needs of the audience, how to plan for their speaking engagement, tips in developing or honing their skills for delivery and learning techniques in how to convey a message or share a story in a manner that is impressive to the audience. 

Goal:  The main goal of this 2 days (Nov 1st & 2nd) workshop is geared to introduce some practical tools that can help any speaker, presenter, professional and leader to deliver their presentations to create a lasting experience for their audience. 

Objectives/Outline:

• The art of speaking – crafting a topic and applying influence to capture the audience 

• Discuss the benefits of understanding the adult learner and how their preferences affect the success of presentations. 

• Take an assessment to uncover your own learning style and how learning styles in general play a pertinent role in the outcome of a presentation. 

• Discuss the types of visual aids that can be used for presentations and their benefits. 

• Expound on effective presentation skills and provide tools and techniques that can be utilized to turn your presentations up a notch 

• Share tools on how to manage content and participants to ensure impactful presentations. 

• Apply the techniques and tools learned in this class utilizing scenario-based presentation

Target audience:  Speakers, leaders, presenters (radio, television, students, professionals), teachers, entrepreneurs, trainers, and those aspiring to step into these roles.
